When the new owner of this house called Redmond Interior Design, she envisioned a contemporary take on a traditional farmhouse. She is an organic farmer and art collector, and needed a home with the practicality and aesthetic balance to handle both aspects of her life. Our first priority was to embrace the beautiful lake and mountain views. This was achieved by converting an overly-large dining room into an expansive kitchen/dining room with a new deck and French windows. A large mudroom was created from the old kitchen space and beautiful shelving was integrated into the living room design to display the client’s amazing collection of sculpture and fiber art. Upstairs, a master suite with an Asian feel was created from two guest bedrooms, while the existing master bedroom was divided into two more practical guest rooms with adjoining bath.
